REFURBISHED – ONLY WANT THE BEST is a full throttle rock album which consists of 13 songs written by Big Swede. There is also a short ‘behind the scenes’ movie documenting the process. It features 17 hi-profile guests including: Reeves Gabrels (The Cure, David Bowie), Rod Jackson (Slash’s Snakepit), Howie Simon (Winger), Johnny Griparic (Slash), Paul Ill (Tina Turner), Greg Hampton (Alice Cooper), Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen), Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie Malmsteen) & Michael Devin (Whitesnake), among others.

“I have been wanting to do this for a long time. There are 17 guests on the record and they all brought something unique to these songs. It was very refreshing and also exciting to mix and match musicians for the different tracks. I am thrilled to have them all on it,” says Big Swede.

”It was interesting to witness the songs going from my earlier scratch versions to the finished performances as the musicians came by my studio on an ongoing basis. There were a lot of laughs and some good times had in the process, “ continues Big Swede.

Most of the project was recorded at Big Swede Studios, located in downtown Los Angeles, except for a few parts that were added in Stockholm, Rio and London. The album consists of 13 tracks with a total of 17 guests.

“I really enjoyed writing and recording a whole guitar-based rock record. The concept was to make a straight ahead rock album with good energy and at the same time leaving some dirt in there. I was also trying to refurbish these guys and making them sound different than what you normally would expect,” laughs Big Swede.
